Stanford invites you to register for SPARK. SPARK is an autism research study and a growing community of autistic individuals, their families, and researchers on a mission to advance the understanding of autism. SPARK’s mission is to improve the lives of people with autism by identifying the causes of autism and informing more effective therapies, treatments, services, and supports. To understand the complexity of autism ─ what makes us the same and what makes us different ─ we need large numbers of people to participate. SPARK is open to all individuals living in the U.S. with a professional diagnosis of autism and their family members. SPARK has more than 380,000 participants including 157,000 people with ASD and their first-degree family members. Over 31,500 participants are autistic adults. Autistic adults and their families are not only participants in the study, but are also serve on our advisory boards, on our staff, and as community partners. When you join, SPARK asks you important information about yourself and participating family members. You can also choose to share your genetic information (DNA) from saliva samples, though you do not have to do this to participate in the study. Over time, you can do as much or as little as you want — all from a mobile phone, a desktop computer, or anything in between. By joining SPARK, you will be making invaluable contributions to advancing the understanding of autism. Learn more about SPARK at sparkforautism.org/why. To register for SPARK: Go to www.sparkforautism.org/stanford If you have already received an email invitation, be sure to register using the email address that this invitation email was sent to. Registration takes about 20-30 minutes. As part of your participation in SPARK, children or adults with autism and their families are asked to provide saliva samples using a saliva collection kit that will be shipped directly to their home and complete compensated surveys as well as learn about other research opportunities. Samples are paid up to $50 and surveys up to $20. Participants will receive the SPARK newsletter and be invited to monthly webinars with experts about issues that matter to their family. We want to record your face while you use a brand new type of sex toy, for an ad. This is a professional shoot by a production company, the weekend of May 9th in Pacifica, CA. Fill out this form (https://gthing.me/casting-call) ASAP if you're in the SF Bay Area and interested! It pays well, for just a few hours' work. Zero nudity required, we're just interested in facial reactions. The new toy is called Groove Thing (https://gthing.me/), and it was invented by my partner in our garage. It's a completely new way to experience music from the inside out, and it's nothing like existing sound-responsive vibrators. Those can't hit a single note, they just buzz on/off to the beat. Groove Thing hits every note and chord, turning your body into a concert hall. The fidelity is even good enough to distinguish between a guitar vs a piano! You can feel key changes and more. It's like having a third ear. Come be one of the first to try it, and make $200+gas in the process! You'll also get your own Groove Thing once they're available later this year.

Iscicle Student Partner Program | Sp2024 Cohort Are you an international student studying in the U.S.? Do you want to improve the study abroad experience for your current and future peers? If so, we’d love for you to join the first cohort of our Student Partner Program here at Iscicle. Iscicle is an early-stage startup focused on improving the international student experience. We're a social network that aims to connect international students all over the country, helping them connect with one another, build their networks, and succeed, regardless of where they end up after university. We are looking for students who want to spend the next three months working with us and fellow partners to bring Iscicle to their college campuses. You’ll also have the opportunity to: Meet twice a month with the founders and the rest of the ISPP team to discuss strategy, brainstorm ideas, and learn about the non-technical aspects of building a social startup! Work on a non-technical area of your choice beyond campus marketing, from social media to data/research to writing posts and articles - whatever fits your interests! This program will run from mid-February to mid-May. There is no minimum time commitment required, we just ask that you attend the meetings as you would for a school club! If you’re interested in joining, please fill out this short google form prior to February 14th. We will let you know if you’ve been selected to participate on February 15th: https://forms.gle/a1nsjmxQB1SCNdLH6 Please note: This first cohort is restricted to students studying in U.S. universities. While we would love to accept all interested students, we also want to ensure that this experience is valuable and educational for those involved. For this reason, we have a limit on the number of students that we can accept. We encourage you to apply and hope to hear from you soon!
