Hello, I am a Stanford Physics PhD student and Teaching Affiliate. I am offering private tutoring in physics and math for students ranging from middle school through advanced undergraduate coursework. My tutoring style focuses on helping students build a deep, lasting understanding of the material rather than relying on memorized formulas or procedures. This makes problem-solving feel more natural, reduces frustration, and helps students develop the confidence and independence needed to perform well in their classes. I have experience tutoring a wide range of students, from middle-school math and science to college-level physics. I am especially well suited for students who want rigorous, patient, and individualized instruction from someone with both advanced subject expertise and classroom teaching experience. Please feel free to contact me at ams01@stanford.edu or 540-718-9286 if you would like to learn more or see my resume. Alec

Looking for a speed and agility coach for my 14-year-old son this summer. He's a serious multi-sport athlete entering high school, and we want to focus on acceleration mechanics, first-step explosion, change-of-direction, and backpedal technique. Two to three sessions per week, June through August, close to Palo Alto/Atherton. Ideal fit: track, football, or S&C background, comfortable working with high school-age athletes. CSCS or equivalent a plus. Shoot me a note with your background and availability.
Seeking: Speed & Agility Coach — Summer 2026, Palo Alto Area
Hi there - I am an Adjunct Prof in the Doerr School, and we are looking for a math tutor for our 14 year old headed in to HS next year. We'd like help making sure his Algebra 1 skills are shored up before going in to Geometry next year. We'd like to do some Algebra and Geometry prep over the summer using AoPS (he's enrolled in their two-week Geometry course in June). We're looking for someone who knows AoPS well — ideally AMC/competition math background — and can meet once a week in Menlo Park to go through his work, push his thinking, and help him learn how to sit with hard problems rather than just get answers. Socratic, not lecture-style. He is motivated to do this and wants to do well. We (as his parents) want to help him with this goal, but are not the right ones to be tutors ourselves. 45–60 min per week, June through August. Competitive pay. If you were the kid who actually enjoyed math competitions and can explain your reasoning clearly, we'd love to hear from you!
Tutor for HS Algebra and Geometry (AoPS experience?)
